while working on this bird i was pushing myself to embrace the perfectly imperfect, or the flawsome (flaw & awesome) parts of my art. as ai has grown more and more prevalent it is nice to have flawsome elements of my work, it shows the human hand.
as a recovering people-pleaser and perfectionist i catch myself, on occasion, not doing something because i am afraid i will not do it perfectly. this overthinking into inaction is not good for anyone or anything. showing up is the most important part.
what is something you are holding yourself back from because you are afraid of not doing it ‘well enough’? (ex: maybe you do not have the time to organize a large scale beach clean-up. could you instead carry a doggy-poop bag with you on your walks or hikes and pick up the trash you see on the trail?)
i was first drawn to Lauren Bash’s account because she was posting about being an imperfect climate activist and i knew i needed more of that representation in front of me (aka on my feed).
